We produced the pre-order website for ili, the first wearable translator for travelers.

BRIEF
A pre-order website for the first wearable translator
ili is a wifi-free instant translator for travelers made by Japanese start-up Logbar. They unveiled ili at CES 2016 in Las Vegas making the dream of breaking the language barrier come true and has been highly anticipated since. monopo took charge of the production of the pre-order website, selling the device to early-birds that will receive ili months before its official launch.

CHALLENGE
Unveiling the features of the highly anticipated device
Logbar made a big impression at CES 2016 and its promo videos generated big buzz online. However, the details of the device’s specs were unveiled for the first time only through the pre-order website. Our mission was to explain clearly the features of ili, reassuring the customers and being transparent with what ili can and can’t do, all the while creating an easy shopping experience for the consumer.

ART DIRECTION
Playful and Travel-focused
As ili is a not a translator for all situations, but a translator for travelers it was important to focus the design on travel. From the top homepage screen, we based our imagery on the travel experience. We mixed yellow and blue which brings energy, positivity, and freedom, and played with animations to reflects the joy of traveling and using ili. The page plays with white spaces and a simple layout to communicate the simplicity of ili.
